Response to Questions for Candidates - Part One

As previously mentioned, I am running for an elected position within my church (Ár nDraíocht Féin, A Druid Fellowship, ADF for short). Since the call went out for nominations several weeks ago, several of the members have been posting questions for the candidates in the members only facebook group. Although the group is restricted to members of ADF, however, not all members are part of that facebook group. Some prefer the better tracking features and consistency of email, for example.

Therefore, in addition to responding to those questions on facebook, I will also be sharing my responses by email and on this blog, so that I can hopefully reach as many members as possible.

I grouped the questions together where I believe appropriate, and I divided my answers into chunks. I prefer my answers in "bite size" pieces, rather than as large "walls of text." I assume the rest of you feel the same way.

Cross-Posting for ConVocation 2018

Hey there, fellow Convocation attendees!

As has become our tradition, Cedarsong Grove will be playing "Hosts with the Mosts" in the Druid Fellowship Suite at Convocation this year.

Please feel free to stop by Room 524 to Meet the Druids.

We will have semi-official "meet and greet" times, as well as scheduled discussions on the subject of consent, with a schedule posted at the door.

Snacks and drinks will be provided thanks to generous donations from the folks at Cedarsong Grove and Wild Onion Grove.

But, please, don't let the "schedule" fool you!

If the door is open, it means we are up for hanging out and chatting. Feel free to drop in just about any time.

We look forward to meeting you!

Here's to new beginnings!

I've been toying with the idea of starting a new blog, since I had largely abandoned the old one and have an entirely different set of topics that are driving me recently. Since I am going to be running for an elected position within my church (Ár nDraíocht Féin, A Druid Fellowship, ADF for short), now is the perfect time to make the switch.

Why "Constructing Rainbows?"

In the stories of the old Norse gods, there is a "rainbow bridge" which connects the realms and provides passage between them. My goal in running for the Mother Grove (effectively, the Board of Directors) is similar. I want to build a bridge between the old ways and the new ways, to provide a point of connection between the members throughout the world so that dialogue and growth can happen as effortlessly as possible.

The image of the rainbow is particularly poignant in this regard, as it represents diversity and inclusion. Unlike rainbows, however, bridges on such scale don't simply appear before us. They require foresight, planning, and no small amount of effort. They must be constructed.

And so we begin.
